This is an 18 minute video of the Cambridge Regional College Design Student’s full, publicly viewed, annual fashion show, that myself and a colleague offered to film. We both took part in the planning, discussions with the client, filming and editing of the footage. We decided to shoot from two different angles on the runway and use all the visuals/audio for the video from the live fashion show itself. We also produced a shorter 1 minute teaser trailer of the fashion show that can also been found on my website. Filmed using college Canon camcorders and edited with Final Cut Pro X software.
This video was filmed as part of RED CHAIR (The college’s external company run by film students for clients), and does not count towards any college assignment.
Analysis of work:
- It was difficult to produce a good standard of video for this production as the lights were constantly changing colour and the allocated area for filming was fairly small. However, we worked the best we could to create a visually pleasing video that cuts to the beats of the music and shows an overview of the entire fashion show.
- It allowed me to understand how important communication skills are with a client and how to keep a client happy.
